Karen is an INCREDIBLE midwife! I switched from a planned hospital birth to a home birth at 33 weeks due to COVID and Karen eased all of my worries. She constantly encouraged me and assured me that I was capable of natural birth. While I appreciated her encouragements, she was also very clear about the reality of my individual circumstances. She maintained mine and baby's health as the most important factor above all else. I can't say enough good things about her and Justin and our birthing experience with them! They are both incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and you feel that from the second you meet them. She supported and coached me throughout the most toughest experience of life yet the most beautiful. I had such a wonderful experience with Karen and her team. I had so many fears and doubts about having a home birth but she really helped me push past my fears with facts and education on home births. My water birth was so empowering and beautiful. It’s something I will never forget! I am so grateful for that experience! Karen allowed my body to take the wheel while still being diligent in her role.
She also goes above and beyond when it comes to informed consent. She gave me so much knowledge and information on procedures, labs, and tests while still respecting my decisions.
One a different note, I was so happy that I didn’t have have to go to the hospital or clinic for my appointments. She came to me which is such an amazing thing during times like this! It was great not having to find childcare or wait hours to see the doctor.
